ancient techniques to soothe the modern lifestyle

Harness your body’s inherent vitality

My name is Silas

In over 20 years of bodywork training and practice, I have honed my ability to sense subtle changes in the body.

In addition to Shiatsu practice, I am a landscape artist, working with trees and stone to create spaces that nurture a sense of calm and belonging. The plants, trees, and stones have taught me the power of patient tending, and I bring this to every Shiatsu treatment session.

My combined work as a landscape artist and bodyworker has taught me that the body, like everything in nature, is a wise teacher when met with patience and humility.

Shiatsu is safe, effective, and tailored to the individual.

What you can expect:

This bodywork technique utilizes a similar modality as acupuncture, where the meridians - energy channels of the body - are stimulated to address various health concerns. Unlike acupuncture, no needles are used, and the meridians are stimulated through various types of touch, including stretching, rocking, and finger and palm pressure. The practitioner maintains a meditative state to note the changes that arise in the body, and the treatment unfolds accordingly.

Sessions are given on a soft mat on the floor while you are fully clothed.

Please bring or wear loose fitting, comfortable clothing. Leggings, sweat pants or yoga pants, and a long or short sleeved cotton shirt are recommended.

Shiatsu is appropriate for many different health concerns. For serious illness and injury, Shiatsu should be considered an addition to comprehensive medical care, and should never replace qualified medical attention.

The hectic pace of modern life pulls us out of the body and into worries about the future and our endless tasks.

The body, like everything in nature, increases in vitality when given care and attention. And just like everything in nature, disease and illness arise when care and attention is removed.

Shiatsu massage is a potent antidote to the hectic frenzy of modern life. The body is able to return to balance and vitality, bringing increased energy to every aspect of your life.

Silas brings a careful attention to everything he does. His touch is safe and powerful, and I have noticed profound shifts in my body and life since I began seeing him. He is a highly skilled bodyworker, and I recommend his Shiatsu sessions to anyone.
